Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series Heeramandi has generated enormous excitement. Starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Fardeen Khan, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Taha Shah Badussha in leading roles, Heeramandi has quickly become a success.

This show depicts the luxurious world of kothas and their journey through love, power, and betrayal. Taha Shah Badussha has taken up this challenging role so well that netizens have even likened his performance to that of Sushant Singh Rajput!

1. Luv Ka The End

Taha Shah Badussha has become the talk of the town since his performances in ‘Laapataa Ladies’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Heeramandi. The actor, younger brother of Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, has garnered critical acclaim for his acting skills and has received much acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Taha admires Sushant Singh Rajput’s work while striving to carry on his late brother’s legacy while carving his own path within this industry.

Rhea Dialdas’ romantic interest Luv Nanda enters her in this billionaire Boys Club wherein uploading intimate videos with women earns more points. Rhea convinces Minty to join her, then recruits other friends in taking revenge by tying up Luv in a room, spraying pepper-spray onto him, and telling him that women may not have balls but they know how to kick them.

Heeramandi audiences were truly won over by this actor’s charismatic portrayal of Nawab Tajdar Baloch, a courtesan. His emotive performance earned widespread acclaim worldwide and clearly bears some influence from Shah Rukh Khan himself – one who epitomizes romantic cinema!

2. Gippi

Gippi became a teenage heartthrob when it hit theaters and has continued his star power with projects such as Barkhaa.

Taha has most recently earned international acclaim for his portrayal of Tajdar Baloch on Netflix’s Heeramandi. Audiences worldwide have applauded his performance, prompting him to visit Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple to seek God’s blessings.

Taha has won many hearts with his portrayal of Heeramandi, an Nawab who staunchly supports India’s independence movement. Additionally, his dynamic with Sharmin Segal’s Alamzeb has mesmerised viewers.

Taha does not seem intimidated by comparisons he receives with popular actors like Vicky Kaushal or Fawad Khan; rather he believes firmly in being himself with his own unique acting style and that he has made his mark on the industry. Taha strives hard to uphold Sushant Singh Rajput’s legacy and will surely impress with his dynamic performances in future performances.

3. Barkhaa

Taha Shah Badussha has earned much adoration online for his portrayal of Tajdar Baloch in Heeramandi, but also faces some harsh critics and trolling on Instagram posts he created himself. Due to this issue, comments had to be disabled on some posts of Taha’s profile page on that platform.

His striking resemblance to Sushant Singh Rajput has caused him to be likened by many, but while this comparison may be flattering, he remains humbled and remains focused on carving his own niche in Bollywood.

Taha stars as Jatin, an esteemed writer invited to launch a book. While in London he falls for Barkhaa (Sara Loren), who has an intriguing background and family that do not accept her.

Sara Loren does a fair job in this film but her performance is marred by poor writing and emotional depth issues. Priyanshu Chatterjee plays Jatin’s brother while Puneet Issar serves as her father in it; both actors shine. Still, there are moments worth enjoying in its songs and its refreshing plot; unfortunately though the director fails to capitalize on these opportunities fully and it becomes another failure of an amateurish nature that only adds insult to injury in terms of quality of entertainment value.

4. Baar Baar Dekho

Taha Shah Badussha first gained fame through his performances in Gippi and Barkhaa, but Heeramandi truly stood out for him as an audience favourite. Critical acclaim came his way and many critics often compared Taha to legendary actor Sushant Singh Rajput; Taha felt honored and made it his mission to uphold Sushant’s legacy in future roles.

In Baar Baar Dekho, he plays Jai Varma who develops doubts before marrying Diya Kapoor and goes back and forth between present and future to teach himself some lessons. Although initially engaging and enjoyable pre-interval, the film becomes tedious and repetitive later.

Mehra has the eye of a fashion catalogue writer when it comes to beauty, as well as some Mills and Boon-esque dialogue, but his high concept drama needed some kind of heart for it to work effectively. Unfortunately, all its glitter and glamour fail to make you care about Jai and Diya’s romance and use time travel as an excuse for some pop philosophy about appreciating the small moments rather than obsessively prioritizing work-life balance.

5. Heeramandi

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s meticulous eye for detail makes Heeramandi come to life, giving viewers an immersive look into the historic world of Lahore’s Heeramandi neighborhood where courtesans known as Tawaifs lived and made contributions to Indian culture, heritage, traveled extensively for work purposes, forged connections with chosen kin, challenged patriarchal gender norms through financial independence and sexual autonomy, among many other achievements. This Netflix series offers viewers a glimpse of this fascinating society through costume and sets that make their presence felt.

Heeramandi’s depictions of tawaifs are troubling: women are presented as prisoners who wear good clothing but who speak in cliched dialogue that would fail an intro screenwriting course, with gifted actors like Manisha Koirala and Aditi Rao Hydari wasted in roles that should assert feminine power in an otherwise male-dominated world, yet come off stilted and lifeless.

Sonakshi Sinha gives an outstanding performance as Fareedan, creating an infectious chemistry with her co-stars and elevating their performances to greatness. Farida Jalal adds grace and beauty as Qudsia Begum, Tajdar’s grandmother; one of few actors who can transcend Heeramandi’s melodramatic tale.
