Instructions

  • Wash 1 cup each of foxtail, pearl, and kodo millet in a large bowl. Cover with water and soak for 6 hours or overnight.
  • In another bowl, rinse 1 cup of black gram, then soak with 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds for 6 hours.
  • Drain both mixtures. Blend the soaked millets into a smooth batter, adding water as needed. Transfer to a large container. Blend the black gram and fenugreek seeds into a smooth batter and mix with the millet batter. Add 2 teaspoons of salt and stir well.

  • Soak 3/4 cup lentils with 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds in additional water for 6-8 hours.
  • After soaking, grind the lentils and millet separately into a paste. The lentil paste will be thick and soft, while the millet paste will be thinner. Combine both pastes, ensuring a slightly coarse texture.
  • Mix thoroughly and let it ferment for 8-10 hours.
  • After fermentation, add salt to taste.
  • Use an idli mould to steam the idlis one by one.

Ingredients:

  • In a pan add 2 cups of water. Then, boil it.

Ingredients:

1 cup millet, 2 cups water, one chopped onion, 1 diced carrot, 1/2 cup peas, 1 tablespoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon oil, curry leaves, salt to taste, lemon juice.

Instructions:

  • Rinse and soak the millet for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and mustard seeds along with cumin s3eed.
  • Add the chopped onion, sauté the onion until golden brown.

  • Drain the soaked millet and add the millet to the pan. Stir well.
